Delicious Gift Basket For Shavuot

  This is the fruit basket I've made for my daughter for Shavuot     

I didn't have a napkin, so I used a hat instead

  For the basket I used a 240 gr paper.
I cut it into 40 X 34 cm  rectangle and two smaller rectangles 6 X 27 cm each.

Make Your Own Gift Wrapping Paper

One of the best tricks I use in order to get a creative gift wrapping, is to make the wrapping paper itself.

This homemade paper that I’m going to talk about today can be reused again and again because cellotape can be easily removed from it.

The technique is quite easy:

All you need is: a  magazine, Scissors, glue , Tissue paperand cellophane.

I 'm using scissors to cut out some images from the magazine, then placing them on a tissue paper which is used as a background. Attaching each piece using UHU stick and adding a cellophane to wrap the present.

Popup Birthday Card Ideas

I think I was about nine years old when I first saw a popup book .

I was thrilled with the idea and thats how I've started collecting those incredible books. 
On my last trip to Barcelona I bought this amazing popup book Alice’s adventures in wonderland,for my kids (kids are a good excuse for lots of things…)

I’ve made these popup birthday cards, as invitations for my son’s birthday party.

I’ve got the idea and the free printable birthday card templates, from the beautiful blog www.minieco.co.uk by Kate Lilley.

It’s the first time that I make a popup birthday cards. Making them was such a fun that I’m quite sure it is a beginning of a new addiction….

Here’s the tools I’ve used:

A Self Healing Cutting Mat, Glue Stick, Crafts Bone Folder(I didn’t have so I used a pin), Metal Ruler, Pencil, a Cutting Tool: Craft Knife, Scissors.

  I've decided to make my mother a scarf for mother's day.

So,  I bought 80 cm of cotton voile fabric (on 150 cm width) then I quickly folded and stitched the edges.

 I took a tissue paper and printed some text on it.

I had to stabilized the tissue with another sheet of regular printing paper, so I inserted them both into my printer (you can download the PDF file here).

Joan Steiner Look -A Like

My real interest in making things out of everyday found objects began when I first found  Joan Steiner's Look-A Like book. In Joan Steiner's books everything actually was something else. Ever since I’ve tried doing the same without much success.

Nevertheless, I still keep trying because it’s exciting to watch a familiar object transfer into something else.

A Few days ago I’ve noticed that my daughter’s Barbie's outfits are scattered all over the house. 

I thought she could use a miniature Barbie wardrobe instead of using the doll’s bathtub for storage.

I decided to use my good old tea-box for the doll's closet. Up to now this box was perfect for carrying my drawing class art supplies, but never mind that…

I painted the inside of the box shocking pink (acrylic), it's her favorite color, what can I say???

I  fixed six round screw hooks (as small and thin as I could’ve found) into the frame of the box. Three pairs of  hooks in total.

I tied the hooks with black satin ribbon and used the last pair as shoe hanger which I’ve made from my overused laundry bag.

I attached two Triangle Hangers so the closet could hang on the wall.

I’ve made some tiny hangers for Barbie's clothes and used some clips as well.
